Dr. J. Steven Moore is Chair of the Department of Music at the University of Central Missouri. From 2000-2010 he served as Director of Bands at Colorado State University where he conducted the wind ensemble, directed the marching band, and taught conducting. He previously directed the Rocky Mountain Summer Music Camp. Dr. Moore has a B.M.E. from the University of South Carolina and M.M. and D.M.A. in instrumental conducting from the University of Kentucky. He has 10 years experience as the band director at Lafayette High School and Jessie Clark Middle School in Lexington, Kentucky and 4 years as the Assistant Director of Bands at the University of Kentucky. Additionally he has served as the Interim Director of Orchestras at UK, as the Conductor for the Central Kentucky Youth Orchestras, and Conductor for the CSU Symphony Orchestra in a performance at the CMEA convention. Under his direction, the Lafayette Band received many awards including an appearance at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic, the Sudler Shield, the Macy’s Parade, as well as 6 State Marching Band Championships. The Department of Education in 1993 selected him as the Kentucky High School Teacher of the Year.
Kimberly Sena Moore is a board-certified music therapist and flute instructor in Warrensburg MO. She serves as a Regulatory Affairs Advisor for the Certification Board for Music Therapists, runs Neurosong Music Therapy Services, a music therapy private practice, and manages the blog Music Therapy Maven. Ms. Sena Moore has a B.M. in Music Therapy from the University of Iowa and a M.M. in Music Therapy from Colorado State University. As a music therapist, she specializes used a brain-based approach to work with children with special needs (e.g. autism and emotional/behavioral disorders, etc.) and with adults with medical needs (e.g. pain management and rehabilitation).
Beyond The Notes Online Music Learning is developed with Flash, PHP, and MySQL by Mike Wille. Mike studied under Dr. Moore at Colorado State University playing bass trombone and sousaphone in the college bands. He graduated with a Business - Computer Information Systems degree but still focused on music. In 2005 Mike joined a U.S. tour of the Tony Award winning show, Blast!. Tours of Blast! and Blast II M.I.X. have taken Mike to Japan four times where he played bass trombone, tuba, didgeridoo and auxiliary percussion. Mike also had the opportunity to record with Oscar winning composer A.R. Rahman in Chennai, India, for the soundtrack of the movie Jodhaa Akbar. Mike currently owns and operates Tastic Productions - a web site development and media production company.
